The powder coating process is fully automatic at Gerritsen van Groningen. The materials to be powder coated are first degreased and phosphated. The powder coating is applied to the products by spraying the powder with an electrostatic spray gun. The spray gun gives the powder a negative electrical charge. The powder is sprayed towards the product, which is grounded. Then the powder is drawn to the work piece by the electrostatic charge.
Due to the electrostatic principle, the powder temporarily sticks to the sprayed object. When the thermosetting powder is exposed to an increased temperature in the tunnel oven, it starts to melt and flow onto the product.
The strength of Gerritsen van Groningen is that you can have your products produced by us and then powder coated as well. This avoids waiting times and enables us to guarantee the quality that you have come to expect from us.
Besides powder coating, we are also specialised in the surface treatment of metals, such as drumming (deburring) and sand blasting.
